1.1 |
The NTUC Group Insurance for Trade Union Members (hereinafter referred to as the "NTUC GIFT") is a group of insurance that covers death and permanent & total disability due to natural causes and accidents. |
|

1.2 |
AUPE is participating in the Scheme for the benefit of its members. AUPE pays a premium for its members. Part of the premium is also paid by the NTUC. |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
1.3 |
The terms and conditions of the NTUC GIFT may be changed from time to time as may be decided by the NTUC. |
|

2.1 |
NTUC GIFT is for members of participating unions/associations affiliated to National Trades Union Congress (NTUC). |
|
Eligibility |
|
| |
|
|
| |
2.2 |
To be eligible for coverage, members must be below 65 years of age as at 1 May of the policy year and must have at least 6 months of continuous union membership. |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
2.3 |
New members must have at least 6 months of continuous membership to be eligible for coverage. To be considered to have continuous membership, members who leave AUPE must join another union/ association, or vice versa, within a period of 3 months and make all payments in arrears, if any. |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
2.4 |
Members must be actively and physically at work. Members who are on paid medical leave and/or on no-pay leave shall be deemed to be not actively at work. Members who are not actively and physically at work shall not be eligible until they return to active service and are medically certified to be in good health. |
|
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
2.5 |
"Members" refers to ordinary, ordinary (general) members and associate members of AUPE. In the case of associate member, they shall have to pay the same subscription rate as ordinary members in order to benefit from the NTUC GIFT. |

4.1 |
As the policy is a group insurance, no individual member will be issued with a Certificate of Insurance. The Master Policy will be kept by NTUC. The information contained herein is not a contract of insurance. |

A member who suffers from partial disability due to an accident outside working hours, will only be paid a percentage of the benefit. Should a second mishap occurs, he will only be eligible for the remaining percentage of the payout. |

6.1 |
In the event that the member dies without leaving a will, the cheque will be made payable to the next-of-kin of the member in the order of spouse, children, parent. However, NTUC and AUPE reserved the right to determine the next-of-kin eligible for the claim. |
